Born and raised in Upper Swabia, I live here in beautiful Ravensburg together with my wife and our beagle lady. Fly fishing has always fascinated me with its elegance, and what began out of curiosity and enthusiasm in equal measure about 30 years ago, has developed into a passion over the years.
After many years with the fly rod on the fishing water, I wanted to further my existence as a fly fisherman and successfully passed the exam to become a Flycasting Instructor at the EFFA in 2013 and am happy to be able to pass on the passion of fly fishing and what is associated with it to anyone who is interested.
At my home waters of the Argen, one of the large inflows of Lake Constance on the German side, I have been teaching fly fishing in my fly fishing school for many years. Here, I try to lay the foundation for the importance of fly tying already with beginners by conveying that entomology is an important key on the way to successful fly fishing.
Besides fishing for local fish species on rivers and lakes in southern Germany, I am drawn to my second home Brazil every year. Deep in the heart of the Amazon and Pantanal, I have also been fishing successfully here for years with self-tied patterns for various tropical predators such as peacock bass, piranha, arapaima, dourado, etc.
For me, fly tying represents an inseparable connection with fly fishing and not only gives me great pleasure in the creative realisation, but also teaches me again and again about flora and fauna. Sometimes, however much effort, commitment, and passion for fly fishing and fly tying is not rewarded with a catch, but with the fact that we are lucky enough to be able to experience them. I look forward to your visit and hope to be able to show you some interesting things.
