I discovered my love for fishing during my childhood; the time on the water with my father was a wonderful experience. I was about 12 when I first tried a fly rod and fly tying. A couple of swan feathers and hair from the family dog became my first self-tied flies which really looked terrible.
After a break from fishing, I am once again fully committed to fly fishing. I prefer fishing with streamers for pike, bass, sea-run browns, or salmon. Together with my husband, I have visited and fished some wonderful locations, from Canada for king salmon to Kamchatka for large rainbow trout.
My fly tying began with a lost bet and a tying vise as a Christmas present and has become a great passion. Just as with fishing, my focus is primarily on streamers. I have won several competitions and have tied flies at international shows, but still find catching a fish on a fly I have tied to be the greatest experience in fly tying.
I am very pleased to be at the Bending Feathers and look forward to seeing you there.
