Erwin Tibad, born in 1956, is a fly fisherman and passionate fly tier.
Already at the age of 5, he held his first fishing rod in his hands. 30 years later, he replaced it against the fly rod and started to tie his own flies. As a dental technician, he naturally has a knack for details and likes to explore materials that are not originally designed for fly tying.
Erwin won several titles at the German Open Championships in fly tying and he shows tying demos on different events.
Erwin has been coordinating the Open German Fly Tying Championship since 2018.
